The Survey has received almost 200 responses so far. There is a pretty good balance of responses by Division and Flights (handicap range) except for Division 4 and our D Flight players.
The Survey will remain open for a few more days. If you are in Division 4 or are a D Flight players, there is still an opportunity to express your opinions.

I filled out my survey but did it too soon. Our last outing at the Orchards was very disappointing. The course and the greens were in poor shape. There was so much sand on the greens that we all had a hard time putting. I guess it is shame on me. From now on I will call the courses before I decide to play.

Thanks for the comments. I’ll include these in our summary. We played Orchards several weeks ago and all seemed pretty good. You may have played immediately following aeration. Most courses will take on greens maintenance (aeration and sanding) sometime during the year. Here is some more information http://www.usga.org/course-care/forethegolfer/why-do-golf-courses-aerate-so-much-.html
I also submitted mine when it first came out. Too soon. Innsbrook was our course last Thursday – deplorable. Aeration is to be expected this time of the year, but these appeared NOT to have been sanded. Nor Rolled. Putts were jumping all over the place. I missed an 10 inch putt when the ball I had moved out of a hole rolled back into it after I stood up to stroke the ball., It went off at a 30 degree angle right out the club face. Those were definitely the roughest greens we have seen all year. Several tee boxes were so hard it was almost impossible to get a tee in the ground. But there was standing water in some of the fairways. There were several places near greens where the ground was so wet a ball could just disappear. Ground should have been marked as under repair but it was not. Left side of #8 and right side of #1 were the worst, but several others were pretty bad. On #1, my second shot was about 6 foot right of the green. I had to move almost 8 feet back toward the fairway, just to find a spot to drop and stand when I were I would not be standing in water or mud. There were a number of places where equipment had torn up the grass near the greens. A ball chipped into the area would deflect completely off line or just stop in the mess. Very sad as I have always enjoyed the course, but I doubt I will go back there next year.
I had the same problem as Richard at the Orchards. The ball was caked with sand and putting was nearly impossible until the greens dried out. I also filled out my survey before playing there. Had I known that the greens had been aerated I would have passed on the Orchards. Could the courses inform the league next year as to the dates they are doing maintenance on the greens, so the VP’s can let the players know? Then it will be up to each player if they want to play that week.
The idea of having the VPs ask about course conditions is interesting. I’ll discuss with the Tournament Committee.
