All weekly tournaments have four (4) Close To Pin (CTP) competitions – two for players using the Forward Tees and two for players using the Back tees. Following the weekly tournament, the member properly recorded on the greens marker as closest a CTP hole will be awarded $5.
We try to make the CTP competition fun, fair and challenging with the following guidelines
- Avoid extremely long (over 170 yards) or short holes (less than 85 yards).
- Forward CTP at least 20 to 30 yards shorter than Back.
- Forward and Back hole on each of the front and back nine
- One CTP competition on a hole where possible
- Avoid holes with long carry over a Penalty area or “hazard”.
On a few courses we will double up (Forward and Back CTP on same hole). On some courses we will have only one CTP on the front or back nine and three CTP on the other side.
