Detailed Instructions and Duties – Starters / Scorers and Shotgun Starts
Starters and Scorers are required for each weekly tournament. All members are expected to volunteer for these positions about once per year. See Policies and Procedures, Article 1, Member Duties.
Starters arrive before the first tee time with the Tournament Materials case. They register all golfers for the tournament, assign tee group numbers, and prepare markers for the Closest-To-Pin. Starters will be the last tee group to register and play.
Scorers arrive in time to play in the first tee group. On completing play, they collect completed scorecards and the Closest-To-Pin markers. The official scorecards and markers are mailed for data entry. They make arrangements to deliver the Tournament Materials case to the Starters for the following week.
