Special Events and Metro Plus Registrations to start January 9, 2019

Registration start for Special Events and Metro Plus are being delayed to January 9, 2019. This includes online/credit card and paper/check signup systems. This is to allow fair notification to all members for the date changes.

We temporarily halted all credit card transactions effective 12-28-2018 due to a communications problem with PayPal. All links to the CC forms and process were removed. The issue is being resolved now. We are delaying restart of credit card transactions until January 9, 2019 to allow confirmation problem resolution.

Membership Renewals, New Member Applications can continue but will require using the paper forms, check payment, and postal mail. Membership Renewals deadline will be extended to January 31, 2019 to allow for this change. Credit card payments for Member Renewals and New Member applications will also restart on January 9, 2019

Registration for Membership Renewals and New Memberships are still open with paper forms, check payments and postal mail delivery.

We regret this, but are working to get all issues resolved ASAP. We will update the membership when more detailed information is available.

  1. Information in this post about Registration for Special Events seems contradictory, or at least confusing.

    The next to last paragraph says “ Registration for Special Events are STILL OPEN with paper forms, checks, ….” ( emphasis added ). Yet in the first paragraph it says “ Registration for Special Events is being delayed until Jan 9… and this includes paper/check sign ups.. “

    What are you going to do with paper Registrations received prior to Jan 9 ?

    Hopefully it is no big deal/ make no difference and no one who waits until after Jan 9 to mail in their Registration will be excluded.

  2. Ralph, thank you. That was an error, now corrected. Hard to catch everything when trying to get everything done ASAP. We had changes started very shortly after notification of problems.

    We are keeping memberships open with paper forms and checks. Most members have already renewed. Paper forms were already out and available. We will allow CC transactions again for membership on January 9.

    We had not yet broadly published the online forms including the paper forms for Special Events or Metro Plus. These should not be available on the website now but will be set up for January 9. So January 9 will be the go date for Special Events and Metro Plus.

  3. If any paper forms for Special Events are received before January 9, they will simply be included in the first day of registration (January 9). Registrations do fill up fast, but data shows that it usually takes about 4 weeks for any event to fill completely.

  4. I renewed my membership online via PayPal with my credit card on November 4, 2018. Can someone verify that my renewal was processed. I keep getting e mails from PayPal requesting that I need to complete the registration process with PayPal. Can those e mails be ignored.

    You are listed in our registered membership for 2019 as CC paid as of December 6, 2019. So from our records you are good to go.

    I don’t know why you would continue to receive messages from PayPal. I did not experience this and have not heard of others with this issue, but perhaps they were not reported.
    Suggestions
    Please check your credit card statement or receipt to see if your records show it as paid. I expect it will show up properly.
    If you already had a PayPal account, perhaps they are asking for updated information (cc expiration dates???) to keep your account active??
    If you did not have a PayPal account, perhaps you checked something that started you on establishing a PayPal account?????
    We will issue membership reports starting about mid-January and before the season starts.
    We have been sending renewal notice requests to members who have not registered as of mid-December,

  6. It is Jan. 9th – 9:30A.M. where can I find the special events sign up forms. They are not at the bottom of the e-mail!

    The Special Event Signup was available by 9 AM. You could access the information via
    1. Link on the website front page (Special Events Signup) scroll down neat the bottom of the page.
    2. Dropdown Menu item at top of almost any website page (Schedules and Results / Special Events / Special Events Signups)

    The front page unfortunately had a lengthy description of Metro Plus that shoUld have been on a separate page. I have removed that and added yet additional links to both Metro Plus and Special Events.
